5 minute photoshop is totally relevant.

So anyways, I thought I would be smart and get some winter tires for the Accord. We have some steel wheels laying around from the Civic, and last I checked, 16 inch tires are cheaper than 18s. Called the dealership to verify that everything will clear, they say no problem and that it’s the same part number for steel wheeled Accords. But FUUUUCK NO. Why would that work? So anyways, we buy the tires, get them mounted, balanced, and on the car. Wheel hits the fucking brake caliper. And now, thanks to the techs at Sam’s Club, we now have Michelin’s on the left and Conti’s on the right. The rear set was replaced last year due to an errant rock in the road, and mismatched due to matching Conti’s costing $180 a piece. So anyways, it now pulls to the right. Later that night, I head over to see my cousin and his friend, who both have Civics. Cousin’s Civic’s blend door decides to shit itself stuck on cold, and his friend’s Civic kills the ignition coil somehow after an oil change. So long story short, Honda. Not even once.

I think this is more a “measure twice, cut once story”

I’m not sure how your issue is Honda’s fault but ok.

Honda hired the parts counter guy that told me they would work. Also, I’m just generally pissed because November is turning out to be a banner month for being terrible.

I measured as many times as possible without actually checking. Parts counter guy made sure to tell me that the backspacing would have plenty of room to clear the caliper.

I guess Honda signed off on this?

If you didn’t check you didn’t measure. But I feel your pain, it’s been a helluva week for me so far too

Any chance you can use spacers to make the wheels fit?

Probably could, but I’m gonna sell the steelies to a local salvager. Make some money off the TPMS sensors and all.
